Things To Know Before Your Stay
It is the guest's responsibility to ensure that they've read and understood all of our policies and to call us if they have any questions before making a reservation.
Room occupancy maximums are strictly enforced. Bringing an extra person, even a child, beyond the allowable limit, for whom there is no bed, will nullify your reservation, and you may not stay here. Very young children are welcome IF you bring a pack n play or other child bed. No refund will be given for an occupancy violation.
This reservation is a purchase, not a hold.
Food and other allergy information MUST be provided at the time of booking in the "Preferences" field. If you wait until arrival, we may not have suitable substitutions in our home pantry.
Children under 18 may not remain in the building alone without a parent or guardian over 21 during their stay.
To mitigate the cost of a last-minute cancellation, a third-party Travel Protection policy is available on our website for an extra fee. Your credit card company may also have a way to cover the cost for you if you have to cancel.
All reservations are based on availability.
CANCELLATIONS: 1. Traditional stays: If you cancel any time between now and 14 days before your arrival, there is a $30 cancellation fee per room. Within the 14 days, you are charged the FULL amount of the reservation unless we can refill the room. 2. Special Event cancellations require 60 days' notice.
HEALTH and SAFETY: We have a wonderful dog, Lucy, who loves people and has complete access to the first floor (but not guest rooms). If you are unsettled by, afraid of, or allergic to dogs, it would be better not to choose our B&B. If you decide to cancel, please do so within a day of receiving this confirmation. Otherwise, no refunds will be given.
State and local requirements and industry standards will govern how we handle operations should another national health emergency occur before or during your stay. Daily in-room housekeeping ia no longer available.
AMENITIES: Personal in-room coffee makers and small fridges have been installed in most rooms for early coffee, your own snacks. Rooms feature hairdryers, reading lamps, shampoo, soaps, shower gel, TVs, and room ACs in season. LED-lit clocks are available on request.
SAFETY: No cooking appliances, smoking, smoking materials, candles, or other sources of heat or flame, or pets, are allowed in our 200-year-old historic building. All guest rooms are located on the second floor; there is no elevator.
Guests are required to bring in their own baggage. Travelers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone who is 21 or older. Every head must be in a bed; bring a pack'n play or porta-crib for very young guests.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: Each room's occupancy limit is clearly stated in its room description and provided on the Summary page of your reservation. If extra people are allowed in a suite for an additional $20 fee, please pay it when you reserve. If not, we will charge it at checkout time.
CHECK IN TIME: 3 to 6 pm or by prior arrangement until 10 p.m. Guests who plan to arrive after 6 p.m. MUST call 413-498-5921 for permission to extend their ETA no later than 10 p.m.
CHECK OUT TIME: 10 a.m.
OCCUPANCY LIMITS: Standard rooms have ONE bed each unless specified. Each room or suite has an occupancy limit that applies to everyone, including children. Bringing an extra person beyond the allowable limit for your desired room, for whom there is no bed, will nullify your reservation, and you will have to find someplace else to stay. No refund will be given.
BREAKFAST: Fresh fruit, homemade pastry, and a hot entree with a choice of beverages and condiments. Breakfast is "Chef's Choice" and served at your choice of 8, 8:30, or 9 am. Please provide dietary restriction and allergy info at least 3 days prior to arrival.
WEDDING PREP: No professional hairdressing or make-up application is allowed in the building due to oriental rugs and antique furniture.
OTHER CHARGES: Forgotten items can be returned from the Northfield Post Office at your request for the cost of postage and shipping. Damage to bedding or furnishings will be charged the full cost of replacement. Avoid a charge by notifying us of stains immediately.
Thank you for your patronage and cooperation.
